CAREERS INFORMATION FOR SCHOOL LEAVERS
When working for Three Bears Media with Blair Joscelyne, we directed, shot and edited a series of Careers Education CD ROMs for the Education Department and the Australian Industry Group. We shot “Day in the Life Of” stories about Qantas maintenance mechanics, fine furniture makers, boat builders, food technologists and mining engineers, to name just a few.
For more examples from this extensive series, please have a look at some more stories from my Careers Education playlist on my youtube channel.
TRAINING TOOLS FOR ORGANIZATIONS
I made highly successful training DVDs for the Australian arm of UNHCR, the UN Refugee Agency, to train their local teams of fundraisers. This one is called ‘Mission Impossible’ and teaches frontline fundraisers techniques for approaching and enlisting potential donors.
A few years ago, I directed and edited two very successful videos for the Australian Film Television and Radio School. These excerpts are off VHS and are showing their age. ‘Video Toolbox’ took students step by step through making their first video and was a best seller for First Light Publishing.
‘Online Editing: Don’t Be Scared’ took young editors through how to be prepared for their first high pressure Online Edit session.
I have also made DVDs on best OH&S practice in industry and community care.
RUNNING WORKSHOPS
AUSTRALIAN FILM AND TELEVISION SCHOOL, BILLY BLUE, NIDA & TAFE
I have taught Video Editing, Final Cut Pro, Photoshop Graphics and After Effects Animation to groups at educational institutions and I also take on individual clients for one-on-one training.
MEDIA SKILLS TRAINING
I have also helped run a media skills training workshop for NSW Fisheries scientists preparing to attend a conference and for the NSW Farmers Association to prepare people going out to explain GST to farmers.
I taped their presentations on video so that we could replay and provide feedback for their public speaking skills.
