Communications

I have had a long career making communication videos for NGOs, charities and other agencies. I really like working on ‘stuff that matters’ and helping them convey their message. I started working as a director and editor at Film Australia, then moved on to making videos for EFEX, Change Focus, Rural Health and Three Bears Media. I’m currently making videos for Kineo and Buzz Interactive.

Over the years, I have made many videos for Australia for UNHCR, who raise funds for the UN Refugee agency UNHCR. My parents were refugees, plus I’ve travelled extensively in Africa. These videos help show donors how they can help refugees. I now work for Australia for UNHCR as their in-house videographer. I recently travelled with them to Kakuma Refugee Camp in Kenya and twelve years ago, we filmed in various camps in Ethiopia.

Australia for UNHCR showed the pressures on Nakivale refugee camp in Uganda, as people flee the civil war in the Congo.

This video thanks Australian donors for their generosity in helping Somali refugees fleeing famine and seeking shelter at Dadaab refugee camp in Kenya.

Working with Producer Chris Maguire, I edited three videos for the Catholic University about the possibilities of tertiary education for aged and disadvantaged students. This excerpt is from the first video, Realising the Talent Within.
